Odoo trick: use automated actions with guardrails

When creating an automated action in Odoo, start with a narrow domain. For example, trigger only when a quotation moves to a specific stage, or when an invoice is posted and a custom checkbox is still empty.
Always add a visible trace, such as a chatter message, tag, or updated field. If the automation sends emails or changes stages, this makes it easy for the team to see what happened and prevents duplicate follow-ups.
